Mission Statement: 

Restoration Choir Peninsula unites a diverse community through the vibrant and uplifting music of the African diaspora. We nurture individual voices, boost confidence, and foster a deep sense of unity and purpose. By embracing inclusivity and connection, we provide a supportive and joyful environment for everyone to experience the transformative power of song.

Who We Are...

Restoration Choir Peninsula is a vibrant ensemble that brings together individuals from various backgrounds, united by the rich and soulful music of the African Diaspora.

Our choir serves as a conduit for celebrating the diverse cultural heritage embedded in global African communities through an inspiring repertoire that uplifts and engages both singers and audiences alike.

We are committed to nurturing personal growth, building individual confidence, and strengthening communal bonds as we sing together with a shared sense of purpose.



In partnership with the University African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church
in Palo Alto, California, we aim to inspire and rejuvenate our community through our musical endeavors.

By fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, we create a joyful space where everyone can find belonging and shared meaning.

Whether you are a seasoned singer or new to choral music, we invite you to join our movement, celebrate diversity, and share in the transformative experience of making music together.

Christopher Street;
​Artistic Director /
​Principal Conductor


Christopher Street, hailing from Southampton, New York, brings a wealth of experience in choral performance and music education to Restoration Choir Peninsula.

As Artistic Director, Christopher enriches our choir with his deep commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and building community through music.

He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Musical Theater and Choral Performance and has been a passionate advocate for youth arts education throughout his career.

Since the age of 16, Christopher has performed with a variety of concert and gospel choirs, as well as, bands across the U.S., honing his craft and engaging audiences with soulful and captivating performances.

His professional journey includes working with numerous neighborhood youth programs throughout
San Francisco and the Bay Area, impacting countless lives over two decades.

Christopher served as Music Director for KIPP Bay Area and has held numerous influential roles in education, including serving as a Paraprofessional, Behavioral Specialist, and Instructional Aide within the
San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).

Concurrently, he directed
Prep Choral Levels 1 & 2 and acted as Training Chorus Director at the
Ruth Williams Memorial Theater, Bayview Hunters Point YMCA, and the
Kanbar Center for the Arts for the
San Francisco Girls Chorus as the campus' site director.

His work as an artist in residence at the
Ruth Williams Memorial Theater
(2022-23)
and his fifteen years as a lead teaching artist and composer with the San Francisco Opera stand as a testament to his dedication to the arts.

He is actively engaged with the
San Francisco Opera Guild and 
San Francisco
ArtsEd Alliance
 continuing to inspire and mentor budding artists.

 Christopher is excited to lead

Restoration Choir Peninsula, creating an environment that echoes choral excellence, expression, and camaraderie.

​His vision for the choir is to create meaningful connections through music that will endure and uplift our community.

Jermaine Johnson;
​Associate Director
​of Choral Music


A native of San Jose, CA,
Jermaine Johnson has long been immersed in the vibrant traditions of the Black church, where his journey in music first began. Surrounded by inspiring sounds from an early age,

Jermaine's natural talent and passion for music quickly set him apart as a young protégé and a sought-after musician in the Bay Area.


With over 20 years of experience in gospel and contemporary music, Jermaine has established himself as a creative force in the industry. His prowess as a music director and pianist is demonstrated through his dynamic leadership and innovative musical arrangements.

Beyond his artistry, Jermaine is profoundly dedicated to teaching and developing instrumentalists, bands, and choirs, nurturing talent and cultivating confidence in the next generation.


Jermaine is honored to serve as the Assistant Choral Director for
​
Restoration Choir Peninsula, where his belief in the transformative power of music aligns perfectly with the choir's mission.

This ensemble embraces the unifying and uplifting power of song, bringing a diverse community together through the rich spiritual music of the African Diaspora.

​Under Jermaine's guidance, the choir's inspirational repertoire allows participants to immerse themselves in soulful music that celebrates this rich cultural heritage.

Stephen Baity;
Orchestra Director



Stephen Baity is the Orchestra Director for 
​Restoration Choir Peninsula, infusing technical expertise and artistic passion into the team.

He holds a Bachelor in Computer Science as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Notre Dame de Namur University and is a gospel recording artist proficient in multiple instruments. 

In addition to his musical talents, Stephen's background in computer science, enhances his analytical and problem-solving skills. This unique combination makes him an innovative leader, poised to elevate the choir's performance and creativity.

Restoration Choir Peninsula, is thrilled to have Stephen on board, as his skills and dynamic approach resonate with our mission to unite the community through the music of the African Diaspora.

We look forward to Stephen's visionary leadership fostering growth and inclusivity within our musical community.
